Growing up on the south shore of Long Island, I have always looked at the bay houses and the surrounding area and wondered about their history. Recently, I took the time to start learning about it and the history is so much more complex than I ever would have imagined. From Guy Lombardo in Freeport to the bay houses around the area to the history of Meadow Island and the rum runners and the Jones Beach Amphitheater.
